AUTUMN CROWN
FALL TRENDS
TEXT: MELANIE SWITZER REILLY
AFTER a brutal summer heat wave,
it seems that finally, fall is upon us.

I’m a huge fan of the fall season, but
really, who isn’t? The fall festivals,
Halloween, comfy sweaters and
of course, pumpkin spiced lattes,
always make for a memorable
time of year.

The other amazing thing about
this season is that seemingly
overnight, everywhere you look,
you encounter a landscape that
resembles the most breathtaking
oil painting. But, be sure to take it
all in while you can, because in a
blink, it’ll all be gone!
Thankfully, what are sure to last
a whole lot longer than the fall
foliage are the fall beauty and
fashion trends. And this season, I’m
thrilled with the color palette, and
I’d like to share with you some of
the hottest fall colors I’m tracking
right now.

We’re all used
to updating
our wardrobe
for fall, but
what about
our hair? This
season, there
are oodles of
new fall color
trends for your
“do” — and
here are a few
of my favorites.

Redheads are always in fashion, but this year one of the
freshest trends in red is “Pumpkin Spice.” Yep,
you heard it right, it’s the perfect hair color
name for fall, and the Iook is even spicier. To
achieve this hue, golden blonde or chestnut is
laid over coppery strands resulting in a striking
multidimensional red. If that’s a little too
daring for you, you can take it down a notch
with the softer “Rose Gold,” which is all the
rage this season.

Remember the gray hair trend of last year
that almost no one could pull off? This year,
it’s been replaced by “Grombe:” hair goes from
dark gray to a paler gray at the bottom, for a
decidedly prettier way to rock this color.

And for some fall highlights, this season it’s
all about “Flamboyage,” which combines
last year’s trends of “Ombre” and “Balayage”-
resulting in a bright, gorgeous and oh-so-
natural look!
