impacts the cocoa.

And she knows those farmers
through connections. It’s a close-
knit community and building those
relationships is tough, she admitted.

“You don’t take a trip, land there
and visit a farm,” Hartman said.

Her and her husband had to visit
several different farms and cultivate
relationships before deciding on their
providers. Conversation and the environment are
incredibly important to Hartman. Five
percent of each of the bars sold goes
to a conservation project that aids to
reforest deforested areas in Brazil.
