What advice would you give to new
or expectant moms?
If someone
offers help, take them
up on it. You can
always pay it forward
when you are able.
You don’t have to buy everything
new. Just to re-use as much as
possible by shopping second-hand
sales. How has motherhood changed your
outlook on life?
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Be
involved not just in their lives but in the
lives of your communities as well. Make
a difference.
How do you think your child(ren)
would describe you?
Busy but will try to do everything I
can to help out.
Describe a favorite mom “moment(s).”
Movie night with the kids and

coaching kids’ sports teams. Another
favorite is helping out in the community,
such as getting involved with clean-up
projects and school volunteering.
Who is your role model?
My mom—she raised eight of us
by herself. We all finished school,
completed college and have successful,
happy lives.
What would you say your secret
is to balancing life/family/work/
motherhood? I see it more of a blending of roles.
I would say that you can’t do any of
this alone—we all need help and that
help can come in from many different
venues—family, friends, community,
school etc. If someone offers help, take
them up on it. You can always pay it
forward when you are able.
